Primary Purpose: To present standard-based reading and writing lessons and provide engaging learning experiences to large groups of students in grades 3-5 or 6-8 for STAAR preparation anywhere in Texas.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Master’s degree in Education preferred
Texas Educator Certification
Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, TEA updates in reading and writing including STAAR, and best practices
Self-starter, dependable, committed, people-oriented, charismatic, motivational and inspiring
Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to seek schools in the state that need and want student camps
Ability to travel with overnight stay
Ability to attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings, usually on Saturdays
Punctuality a must
At least five yearsof successful ELAR teaching experience in 4th grade or 7th grade
Proven experience in Reading and Writing STAAR preparation to elementary or middle-school students
Campus or district leadership experience preferred
Experience training, coaching, or mentoring children a must
